Jan Adamsen (Metselaer-Messler) was born at Worms, Germany, 1626, died 1696. His Name appears in the court records of New Amsterdam in 1656. In 1665 he lived in Marketfield Alley. Inn 1669 he was one of the curators of the estate of Hage Bruynsen, a Swede (p. 306). His sons, Sebastian, Dirck, Abraham, Isaac were born in 1658, 1661, 1662, 1678 respectively. Of these, Abraham married, 1694, Harmetje Gerrits.
